the side door · six questions about your day, so the house sets out the right things

You found your person.

The rest is logistics, and logistics can be learned. This is the house: what one bride built after her own wedding to keep what she learned, for whoever comes next. Three props are lit tonight; the rest light up as their rooms open. Click a lit one.Tap a lit one.

The lounge: a small jazz room in crimson velvet and brass. A bar on the left with a wall telephone and a chalkboard, a lit stage with a microphone and piano at the back, a tufted booth with a candle on the right, a wall of old books, a coat check by the door, a gramophone, and an open guest book on a stand.

the house · est. mmxxvi

You can stop comparing before the comparing starts.

Somewhere between the ring and the aisle, everyone else's wedding starts showing up in yours, and the industry prices the difference with a straight face.

This house keeps the other knowledge: what the day actually costs, and what to do when someone you love drops the ball. The stuff couples find out three weeks too late, told straight by the people behind the curtain.

It's for you if you'd like to know your day well enough to stop checking everyone else's.

№ 1 · the stakes

12

vendors ran one real wedding in March 2026. They are the founding sources of this house, and their names open the front door.

01

What things cost

Service charges, tips, and the two little pluses after a plate price. The math nobody walks you through until the invoice does.

02

The run-of-show

What has to happen, hour by hour, and whose job each piece is. A wedding without one runs on hope.

03

The wobble

Someone you love will drop a ball. The plan for that moment matters more than the seating chart.

№ 4 · the first drop

Twelve pieces of signage and paperwork that made it down a real aisle in March 2026, being rebuilt as editable templates.

01Welcome sign, two sizes
02Signature drinks board
03Bar menu
04Seating chart, two layouts
05Timeline sign
06Unplugged ceremony sign
07Memorial sign
08Bathroom basket labels
09Bachelorette itinerary
10Vendor tracker
11Budget sheet
12Design guide — colors & type

In assembly. A plain price on each when it's ready, never a “starting at.”

№ 5 · a field primer

A few terms, translated. The rooms hold the rest.

preferred vendor list
The list your venue hands you. Some vendors earned the spot. Some paid for it. One question sorts it: "does anyone pay to be on this?"
plus-plus ( ++ )
Two pluses after a price mean two things still get added: the service charge and the tax. So a $100 plate lands near $130 once the invoice finishes counting.
service charge
Not automatically a tip. Where it goes depends on the contract. If you want the people working your night to have it, ask first, then tip on purpose.
day-of coordinator
Executes a plan that already exists. They don't invent one that doesn't. The plan still has to be written, by someone.

№ 6 · house rules

RULE 01

Nobody buys a recommendation

If a vendor ever pays this house anything, it's a flat, disclosed program fee. Never a cut of your booking.

RULE 02

Wrong fit gets said out loud

If something here isn't for you, it says so before you spend a dollar.

RULE 03

Scarcity is never theater

If something's limited, it's because hands and hours are. No invented countdowns.

RULE 04

Your address stays yours

One email when doors open. No list sales, no drip campaigns.

№ 7 · questions

01What does it cost to get in?+

The door is free. The first drop will carry a plain price when it's ready. There's no membership meter running.

02Who keeps this house?+

A bride who got married in March 2026 and still has the spreadsheets, with the twelve vendors who ran that day as founding sources.

03Why make people knock?+

Because a referral means someone vouched, and vouching is the whole economy of this place. No vendor's name? The side door asks six questions about your day instead, so the house can set out the right things for your day. Everyone who answers gets in.

04Is anything for sale yet?+

Not yet. The first drop, the twelve pieces above, is in assembly. When it's ready, you'll see the price before you see a checkout.

before you go

The house is still being furnished.

Leave an address and you'll know the moment the first room opens. First to open: the twelve pieces, with a plain price on each.

You're already in. This is only so the house can find you.

One email when doors open. Unsubscribe anytime. Your address is never shared or sold. The particulars.
